Speech and Language Therapists work with children and adults who have difficulties with communication and adults who have difficulty with swallowing. The SLT assesses diagnoses and treats acquired and developmental communication disorders e.g. Speech and language impairments including phonological, articulation and language delay/disorders, voice and fluency disorders. The Primary Care SLT also assesses, diagnoses and treats adults who have acquired swallowing and communication disorders, e.g. after a stroke or patients with motor neuron disease.
